Before beginning my next post, I would like to take a minute or two to express my gratitude for those of you who have checked out Ivegotconfidence, and taken the time to write comments, like and follow, or tell me in person that you have enjoyed it.  I feel truly humbled and delighted that God would allow me this privilege to write about Him and His wondrous ways in the first place, and to receive some “kudos” besides is a tremendous blessing!  Thank you so much!

Our Earth is amazing amongst all the Stars of the Heavens

Now, on to the subject at hand!  One of my readers has suggested that I write about the “7 Beauties of the World.”  I think she meant the 7 Wonders of the World, but that’s beside the point.  In doing some perusing of the internet the other night, I discovered that there is not only 7 Wonders of the World, 7 Ancient Wonders of the World, but there are 7 Natural Wonders of the World and there appears to be a competition to be named a “wonder of the world”.  This must mean that there’s a lot of possibilities out there for us to “wonder” about!!

In Agra, India, this is a mausoleum from a loving husband to his devoted wife — 15 years in the making to honor her memory.

When God created the World by the words of His mouth, and yes He did create it,  He took six days to do it, and on the seventh he rested.  (That is why what you say is so important and sooooo powerful!  We are made in His image and have been given the ability to create with our words as He has done.)  We are not accidents, evolutionary beings, or creatures crawling out of the great slime pit of life, but we are and were created by an intelligent God of all the Universe with a spirit, a soul and a body,  in His image with an eternal purpose, and He has a plan for each and every one of us.

With that in mind, with all the many wonders of the world out there, how can we possibly pick only seven to be the top of them all?  I have a hard time even thinking about choosing only seven after having seen the few that I’ve seen on the internet.  We live in a world that is so complex, and diversified, many-colored, many faceted, with creativity running rampant on a global scale, almost beyond our comprehension.  There are not only the oceans, lakes, islands, and reefs, but man-made edifices, sculptures, paintings, buildings, gardens and such that boggle the mind as to their incredible beauty and fascinating architecture.  There seems to be no end to the “wonders” out there that will bedazzle our consiousness and finite minds.

So, instead of even trying to share all that is out there, because you can go find the pictures for yourselves if you wish, I’d like to give you my own seven wonders.   Yours may differ significantly from mine, and I’d love for you to share yours with me, but here’s a few of “my favorite things”, if you will, not necessarily in this order!  If they seem trite and silly to you, you are free to chose your own, more lofty and high-minded things.

1. Ice Cream– need I say more.

2. Kittens and cats to watch them play and enjoy their soft fur next to my nose.

3. Puppies and dogs to enjoy and cuddle with.

4. Green meadows and flowers all around — a great place for a picnic, or just watch the clouds roll by on a lazy Saturday.

5. Bay windows in a beautiful home looking out onto a gorgeous, landscaped front or back yard.

6. My family — who gives me great joy at all times, good or bad.

7. The Love of God thru Jesus Christ – without which I would not be here at all to enjoy His many Wonders.

Maybe it’s time for us to take a few moments to sit down and think about the things that really make us happy, that we find fulfilling in life, and create our own list of  “seven”.  My list may change a little from time to time, but not a lot.  What things do you find “wonderful” in your life?  What amazes you about the world you live in?  How can you influence the world you live in for good?

There are a lot of wonders out there!  And perhaps the most amazing and wonderful of all is YOU!!!

Could this have been you? God loves us all — yellow, red, black, brown, or white!

“For you did form my inward parts; You did knit me together in my mother’s womb.  I will confess and praise You for You are fearful and wonderful and for the awful wonder of my birth!  Wonderful are Your works, and that my inner self knows right well.  My frame was not hidden from You when I was being formed in secret [and] intricately and curiously wrought [as if embroidered with various colors] in the depths of the earth [a region of darkness and mystery].  Your eyes saw my unformed substance, and in Your book all the days [of my life] were written before ever they took shape, when as yet there was none of them.”  Psalm 139: 13 – 16  The Amplified Version
